I'm getting reports that it's a GDDR5 fab that was damaged, but I'm still going to assume manufacturers will use this to hike prices further.
 
FFS, all I know is that, well, that little bit of flooding crippled the HDD market for consumers... Same thing will happen here, no matter how small of a fire.
 
Manufacture's are always very eager to increase profits with any method they can find, regardless of the country

I'm sure they miss the day's in the 80's and early 90's when they could get $150. for a 4 mb stick of sdram

There is a report from PC World that states Hynix is still going to be in production soon and the damage was not that severe

Yea, exactly what I was saying. Somebody catching fire is the perfect excuse to hike prices quicker than they were.
