Buy as Dual Channel Kit or 2 identical memories?

im trying to buy a 1gb memory stick on ebay. I understand for desktop PCs, I need unregistered, non-Ecc, unbuffered, low density ram. but if I want to run dual channel, would I need to buy memories in a specific dual channel kit packet? or can I just buy 2 of the same identical ram that doesn't state itself as a kit?

2 of the identical sticks of RAM placed in the proper slots will give you dual channel

You probably don't need even two of the exact same brand. It just has to be two ram running at the same speed and timings i believe.

Still buying two single sticks of the same kind will work too. I just did it with my G.Skill NR's after 2 months of only one stick.

As long as both sticks, are the same speed and timings, you'll run them in dual channel.
