Default Bulldozer

I'm reading mixed reviews about AMD.'s new 8-core monster. Should I be waiting for the second generation to come out? Or am I reading too much into the bad reviews? I almost feel like im doing something bad, questioning the performance of an 8-core proc for under 300.

I have been reading a lot of reviews that showed Intel I7 is the top performer.
