Hi, I am building a gaming pc bt i have a VERY tight budget. If someone could help me out it would be appreciated so much. I only have £400 EXCLD VAT. Heres the real problem, I want my machine to be able to comfortably play Supreme Commander, For this I need these specs:

* 3.0 GHz Intel or equivalent AMD processor or better
* 1GB RAM or better
* 8GB available hard drive space
* 256 MB Video RAM, with DirectX 9 Vertex Shader/Pixel Shader 2.0 support
** (Nvidia 6800 or better, ATI X800 XL, X 1300 or better)

Is there any way this will be possible? I dont need speakers, mouse, keyboard, OS or monitor etc.

Any help wold be much appreciated. I live in the UK so UK shops are a mst like www.ebuyer.com or www.scan.co.uk

Remeber please its £400 excluding VAT. If someone could help me I wold be SO SO SO SO gratefull. :(

Wold this system bee good enough?

Nvidia 7600GT. P4 Dual Core. (945 Pentium D , Standard Case , 17 " TFT 8 M/S Response, 1 X Nvidia GForce 7600GT 256MB Graphics , 80GB Hard Drive , 1024 DDR 2 667 MHz Memory , No Operating System Installed , 18 X DVD Dual Layer Writer , Asus P5B-MX/WiFi-AP Motherboard Upgrade )

or

Nvidia 7300. P4 Dual Core. (820 Pentium D , Standard Case , 17 " TFT 8 M/S Response, 2 X EN7300GE & P5ND2 Sli MB , 80GB Hard Drive , 2048 DDR 2 667 MHz , No Operating System Installed , 18 X DVD Dual Layer Writer , Asus P5B-MX/WiFi-AP Motherboard Upgrade )

Many thanks

I know you can't buy from Newegg but I'll be using them to link you to the parts and you can find them in UK stores later. I just work best with a store like newegg in knowing what you need.

No 400 pounds is about 800 USD right?

For 800 USB I would get:

AMD X2 3800+

Biostar NForce4
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813138041

G.Skill DDR2-800 RAM 1GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231099

WD 250GB SATA 3.0 HD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144701

FPS 450w

Cooler Master Case

Sapphire X1950XT
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814102067

That comes to $725USD without shipping. This is just giving you an idea of what you can get. That may be a budget PC but with an X1950XT and even just an X2 3800+ It will kick some major arse.
1GB will also do you plenty until you can get an upgrade later so only go with 1GB now.

Once again I know you cant purcashe from Newegg but that's just to show ytou the parts I like.

If possible get 2 gigs of ram though, after about 200 units, supreme commander is especially ram hungry

For the money the above is pretty good, and the graphics card is much better than a 7600GT, although im a Nvidia fan a faster card than a 7600 would be out of your budget so id go with the ATi i think

you cant just say 400 gbp is 800 usd as we have to pay allsorts of extra charges it ends up about half the price plus 40 dollars for components more expensive then 100 dollars.
