Ok Im sick of my computer and its been over 2 years sence my last upgrade. So I put together a system but im not sure if I should go with a DX10 card cause im not really thinking of upgrading to vista ATM because there are still to many problems to be worked out im running XP Pro. Any Ideas to make it a better system are greatly apprechated cause I havent been keeping up on hardwear so I dont have a clue. I intend to use the system for games but there is only one game I really play right now Counter Strike Source. Also it will probably be another 2 years befor I do a major upgrade.

i will get in and say it before sora does. dont go with corsair, they arent performing they way they should. Go with g.skill, they really out perform most. and have best bang for buck. everything else seems pretty good, i dont know about the psu, like its a good brand, but not sure if its a bit over the top, i dont know, talk to ste or read his guide on psu.

Cpu = fan I have never heard of g with a scythe ninja or zalman 9500-9700
hdd = do you really want a raptor seagate barracuda 7200.10 are nearly as fast and a lot cheaper but if performance is priority then raptor will be very slightly quicker.
Case = only comes with one 120mm fan but seems ok
psu = nice brand but your over doing the power requirements of your system an antec true power trio 550W would easily power this system a 600W should be about your max needed.
Graphics card = get a 8 series nvidia they are extremly powerful
RAM = I have that ram it isnt great go with the G-skill value if you want to do some large over clocking then the hz's (black)
cpu = great processor choice
motherboard = my personal favourite motherboard at the moment is the Abit AW9D-max. Intel boards are suppose to be extremely stable but expensive and not that great at over clocking. The asus striker is suppose to be overpriced but a good board IU don't know canadian prices so cant say whether it is cheap.

good build it would all work fine they're are just a few tweaks for saving cash and performance boosts. I know what you mean about the budget the build in my sig started with a budget of £800 it ended up costing me close to £1600 I got a little carried away....

Matt

As above get the 8800 GTX 768MB if you can afford that, the 7950 GT is a great card aswell though but if you have a choice then definatly the 8800 GTX, you will love it :D
Only thing id say is pick another case preferably from a well known brand like Antec, cooler master, Enermax etc.
Only reason i say go for another case is because the one you picked doesnt have very good cooling and ive never even heard of it........ id recommend a Antec nine hundred though, i have this case and it has LOADS of speed controlled fans, looks nice, keeps everything cool and has space to spare, plus it was the first time i put everything into a case and i didnt have any problems at all :D

Here it is(not a uk site but just so you can see what its like) Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

OK I think I found a better canadian site and advice form you guys and another computer forum I posted on and here is what I got so far.

Im not 100% set on the mobo or Video card I am also looking at this mobo

EVGA Nforce 680I SLI LGA775 Conroe ATX DDR2 2PCI-E16 2PCI SATA2 Sound GBLAN 1394 Motherboard
$282.40

The reason Im not sure about the video card is because of the brands I have no clue witch is better or which card to go with theres so many. I would like to thank you guys for helping me out with this.

700W is too much power for your system. A good 600W will do. Like Corsair or the 600W version of the OCZ GameXStream. And for the brand of graphic cards, EVGA is one of the best. They also have the step-up program.

I kept that psu cause I was having a hard time finding an alright lower wattage psu and its not priced to bad plus an extra 100 watts wont hurt anything it just provides no chance of loading effect on the psu.
I have never heard of the step-up program.
