Default Building New PC

Hey guys, im building a new PC, and last time i mucked it a little with parts not working, being too hot and breaking easily.
So this time I want to get it right, so if someone could check it over and answer a few questions for me that would be great.

ASUS P5P43TD PRO iP43 Socket 775 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
ASUS P5P43TD PRO iP43 Socket 775 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard - Ebuyer

- Reliable?
- Good overclocker?
- Good onboard sound? (Please say if it would be worth buying a sound card)

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Socket 775 (3.0GHz) 1333FSB 6MB L2 Cache Retail Boxed Processor - Ebuyer

Palit GeForce GTS 250 Green 1024MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card [] Graphics and Video NVIDIA Graphics Plus GTS 250 Series

- Already have this card, was wondering if it would hamstring system, or cause any problems, just incase .

Antec 300 Three Hundred Case
Antec 300 Three Hundred Case - Ebuyer

- Reliable?
- Good cooling?
- Air flow good?
- Stock fans loud?

Antec TriCool 120mm Green Led Fan
Antec TriCool 120mm Green Led Fan - Ebuyer

- Noisy?
- Good CFM?
- Will it look nice with the antec 300? (Just opinions, I think it will make it look pretty mean )

All in all if you could just comment on one part, not all if you don't want to. All input is appreciated. Any reccomendations would be appreciated if you could link the product also

Also any additions to the list to improve it that little more without a heavy price tag. (Such as full tower case instead of mid tower)

Thanks very much.

i wouldnt go with an lga775 build now, there are just other, better options now.

cpu/ mobo
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 8MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor - Ebuyer
Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P AMD 770 Socket AM3 6 Channel Audio Out ATX Motherboard - Ebuyer

if youd like to stick with intel, you could get this mobo
Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 iP55 Socket 1156 8 channel audio mATX Motherboard - Ebuyer

with either of these cpus
dual-core intel Core i3 530 2.93GHz Socket 1156 4MB L3 Retail Box Processor With Free Avatar Game Download Voucher While Stocks Last - Ebuyer
quad-core Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz Socket LGA1156 8MB L3 Cache Retail Boxed Processor - Ebuyer

ram
G-Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 Ripjaw Memory Kit CL7(7-8-7-24) 1.65V - Ebuyer

hdd
Samsung SpinPoint F1 HD322HJ 320GB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 16MB Cache - OEM - Ebuyer

case; antec 300 is a good choice.

for the gfx card, if by "hamstring" you mean bottlenecking, the no it wont bottleneck your system or vice versa with either the parts youve listed or that ive listed.

and you havent listed a psu. do you already have one or do you need help picking one out?

Already got a 550W Psu with two PCI-E's on it, will that be enough for all the new gear? (Graphics card need 2)

Edit: Mega thanks for the AMD Processor aswell. Definately reconsidering getting it. Aswell as the mobo.

What brand is the 550 watt PSU?

550 watts is enough for your new gear. It has to have enough amps on the 12V rail(s) for the GTS250. If your PSU is from a good brand, it'll be more than enough. And with all those expensive parts, i wouldn't trust a shoddy brand with it!

looks good.

are you going to reuse an old optical drive or do you still need one?
Samsung SH-S223 22X DVDRW/RAM/DL Serial ATA Black Bare Drive - OEM - Ebuyer

i agree with aliasaid, if your psu is from a crap brand i would spend the extra money on a new one. you can take a look at the psu guide found here for more info *READ FIRST* Updated Power supply guide

I have an old optical drive that i can use, and as for the power supply its a corsair one that cost me about £70 after my cheap £20 650W blew up on me. And my 550 hasnt failed me.
