I'm trying to build a new computer before the summer, mainly for gaming. I don't want something to expensive, but I want to be able to play games like BF2,CSS,WOW. I think I got all the parts right...If some of you guys could help me out and tell me what I need to upgrade/downgrade, change or what ever I did wrong.
Thanks again

Some good choices there, esp the video card and the processor. You dont need a sound card, esp if you want to save money, onboard sound is decent these days.

I would recommend you change your hard drive, ram, dvd drive and case and psu: the above psu is low end quality. You may as well get a dvd burner for another $15 for backing up your data or copying movies.

This case and psu:

Or this case and psu seperate:

The video card is a great choice, but I personally recommend the 7900GT KO, rather than the CO. They are almost identical, but the KO has a better heatsink. I think they are the same price right now actually.

I also have those speakers and that same processor. Logitech's are really nice, I like them a lot, and so are their mice (mouses?). The 3700+ is also a good choice, but if you can, go with a 3800 X2. It's just a bit more power that will go further. There's nothing wrong with the 3700 though, so if you still want it--that's fine.

The RAM is probably fine the way it is, I usually go with Corsair, but I've heard that brand is good, too. The case, however, I do not like. I agree with vader that the Antec is a better solution. For the HD, I always go with Seagate.

Also, I haven't seen that keyboard before, but it looks sort of cheap to me. A nice Logitech is usually worth it in my honest opinion; I have a wireless one right now that came with a mouse (which I didn't like--replaced with a G5).

go with visionray he gave you a good setup

stick with the aspire case (i have it and love it)
dont get an LCD monitor
get a decent CRT 21" for like half the price
LCD isnt worth getting into right now unless you really want it

i would also go with an ASUS a8n deluxe motherboard
*worth the investment*

other then that skeet skeet your good

Some solid choices there, sounds like a good build to me. The advice offered in this thread is great too, follow it and you'll end up with an even better system. Good luck with it.

...

How is the PSU in that though--is it worth replacing or is it stable enough?

I wouldn't use the Aspire PSU that comes with the case; get an Antec or OCZ (I perfer Antec). Nice choice on graphics card, although I would get the KO edition (which costs around the same). I would go with a MSI, DFI, or ASUS motherboard.

This is a good SLI mobo for the money, although not as good as the DFI Lanparty SLI-DR (but that costs like 60 or 70 dollars more).

Thanks guys for all the help. I have made some changes. But I still have one question. I'm looking for a good operating system...Im looking at the windows xp media center because of my sons xbox 360. (This is who im mainly building the computer for, excluding BF2 for me :) ) Another question is I havnt built a computer since high school, Ive bought dells up till now. But I think Ill be ok but if anyone has a website that I could refer to from time to time if (when) I get lost. Any help would be awesome... Thanks again guys!
