Im planning to setup a new rig, preferrably the machine only since I already have a LCD screen, keyboard, mouse and etc.. Im gonna use this for heavy video editing, and extreme gaming as well. Budget is not exceeding $3000.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 2.93 Ghz Conroe = $949.50

TOTAL: $2,211.43

Now the only thing I dont have on the list is the PSU so can somebody recommend me a very good and very stable PSU please. As you can see that I ll purchase 2 video cards because I will run them in SLI. And is 7950GT the dual-core graphics? So it means Im running Quad SLI? And which is better, SLI or Crossfire? Im also looking for X1900XTX and run it in Crossfire but I dont know which among them has the lead..

And also I read that Kentsfield CPUs are coming.. Is it much wiser if I purchase a E6600 Conroe instead and buy that quad core CPU when it comes out? Same thing with the GPU knowing that DX10 cards are coming out.. If possible that I can run DX10 cards in SLI...Latest technology in my machine :)

But time is the enemy here. If the release is later than 2 months well I cant wait for that much long. And also I expect that there are bugs in there that needs to be worked out. When is the exact release of the quadcores and dx10 cards?

Any info recommendations kindly please reply.

7950GT has 1 GPU.
7950GX2 is the one that has 2 GPU

Don't get two 7950GT, because it as waste of money. Get one 7950GT or wait for the geforce 8800GTX/GTS , it wil be released next week.

Thanks for helping out with the PSU. I think I will go with this one persian wrote and many told me that this is reliable and most of them uses this.

PSU: OCZ GameXStream 700W PSU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817341002

And to buy something that will hold me till DX10

GPU: eVGA 256-P2-N615-TX GeForce 7600GT
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130062

Maybe I do not need sound card as of now coz im not doing any audio editing.

So everything packed up? If so Ill be placing my order then. Any info guys on the expected models for DX10? As much as possible I need to have an SLI so that I can run multi view displays and added power to gaming as well ^_^

And I think no one answered my question yet regarding which has a better lead between SLI and Crossfire.. I know most will tell me that its a person's choice but I want to hear users from both to tell me..

And also I need suggestions on my cpu..Its a little pain for that price but its ok if its worth it...Kentsfield cpus are coming and I do not want to spend too much money now and buy a quadcore cpu soon...But if that quadcore cpu is not worth buying then I might stick to this X6800 and OC it like ****..
