Question Building my first gaming PC

Hey guys! I'm new to the forum and I'm excited because I have decided to make my first gaming PC. I have never built a computer before so I need some suggestions on the motherboard I need, hard drive...really anything that goes with building a PC. I have as of now a Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX and I need to know what parts would be good for that especially the motherboard. Thank you!

to add a note in there, Im going to be using programs such as: 3Ds Max, Maya and adobe photoshop as well

What's your budget? Also, what country? And do you already have a monitor you want to keep?

What's your budget? Do you still need an OS or monitor? If you still need a mouse and keyboard, are you looking to get a cheap set that won't really effect the budget, or are you looking to spend $100 + for mouse+keyboard?

Edit: I lost

Also, what country are you in? Cos if you're in the US I won't be much use making a build since I work in £s. And vice-versa or other folks here.

So modify it... this was just to give the user an idea of a build, that's all

Nukem's build looks good. What is your budget though? If you can afford more, it would be wise to get a quad core if you are using 3DS Max and Maya
