so im still waiting on all the parts to arrive before i send anything back.
quick question. is the p5k alot better then the ix38?
because im really impatient and i dont wanna send it back and wait for the other. unless it really worth it. what ya think?

hmm the only reason im leaning on the p5k is because of the crossfire.
is it worth it for the crossfire alone? anything else might make it worth it?

the p5k is the p35 chipset, x38 is x38 chipset.. x38 is aimed more at the enthuasiast platform.. but its not really recommended here because of the price... it overclocks just like p35...

oh man... Isnt P35 motherboards second pci-e slot only x4 speed as opposed to first slot being x16 speed.

If you want best crossfire surely he would want both at x16... the mobo he returned was better for crossfire wasnt it?

i didnt return it yet. i just received all the parts today so i can still keep the ix38.
so its either the ix38 or p5k deluxe
the extra 20$ for the ix38 isnt the issue for me.
i just want the better investment
this is the one i have now Newegg.com - ABIT IX38 Quad GT LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Newegg.com - SilenX IXP-76-18 120mm Case Fan - Retail
Newegg.com - OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI ATX12V 700W Power Supply 100 - 240 V - Retail
Newegg.com - Thermaltake A2018 120mm Blue LED Case Fan - Retail
and this is the one im going to exchange for if its worth waiting an extra few days (shipping the mb, psu, dvd drive, fan. and buying...)
Newegg.com - ASUS P5K DELUXE/WIFI-AP LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-520HX ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 520W Power Supply 100 - 240 V UL, CUL, CE, CB, FCC Class B, TUV, CCC, C-tick - Retail
Newegg.com - LG Electronics Black 18X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 10X DVD+R DL 18X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 18X DVD±R DVD Burner with 12X DVD-RAM Write - OEM
Newegg.com - SilenX IXP-76-18 120mm Case Fan - Retail
it says it has Super Memspeed Technology Enhances Memory Speed up to 75%
will that be a better choice?
or should i just stick with what i have?

im not sure about the memspeed thing.

in all honesty "I" really do prefer the ABIT IX38 board.

as someone pointed out to me all P35 mobos second pci-e slot is at x4 speed. The IX38 both slots are x16. Plus its the latest range and has a higher FSB so will last longer.

CPU3D.com - Abit IX38 Quad GT Motherboard

Could someone tell his guy which of them 2 motherboards is better for CrossFire and lovgevity.

other the parts you can change, as they are slightly better.

For 20 bucks, the Abit board is going to be your better board. The reason we dont like the ocz power supply is the gamexstreme line has been known to have wide fluctuations in the 12v rail, which is not good for your components. The corsair hx520 is a solid PSU, i love mine.

sorry you got messed around like this dude.. the orginal choice IX38 is good, its a keepa

still change to:
1. Corsair psu
2. LG dvd drive
3... dont know what you need the fan for.

scrub that p5k

the only memory performance boost i know of is ReadyBoost - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
