Question Building First PC.. Need spec help and advice

Hi all... I am just about to venture to build an AMD gaming rig and I need to know if these parts I selected are well worth my time and money. My budget should not exceed $1300 (without monitor, keyboard, mouse..) but I want it to perform any task well and handle all games in max settings as well as multitasking effortlessly..

First of all I'm not sure if I need to get the new AM2 socket (which increases costs about $300.. How much of a speed difference will I experience?
