This is what I would do. It's your money you can blow it how you want. Personally I'd just get a 7900GT and then get a DirectX 10 card instead of spending 550 now on a 7950 and then spending that again when you upgrade to a much more futureproof card in 5 months.

ya.. and with a 17 or 19 inch monitor.. you'll only have 1280x1024.. that card was made to devoir 1600x1200.. and 1920x1080 and such.. that card is way overkill for your resolution... get the x1900xt.. and then shove more to your processor i guess.. e6700!!

well idk what these guys are saying to get a 7900GT for only 5 months for...maybe they're too hardcore for my standards.

i'd suggest a 7600GT and then upgrade or get the best you can now. a 7600Gt should hold you over just fine until D10 as long as you don't need 100+ FPS
