Building a computer for a friend

That board is not worth getting with that processor. You'd be better off getting a P45 board.

You also don't need a sound card, the onboard is fine.

You can take the money you save and get better parts in general.

Total comes to 871.59 after shipping, with 50 bucks in MIRs.

Much better board, better PSU, better HDD, bigger monitor.

EDIT: Waffle, SeaSonic isn't exactly an unknown brand...Corsair PSUs are actually SeaSonics, just rebranded...

Good build, except I would swap the GTS250 for a 4850. It is faster, would work better in this situation since the board is crossfire capable and the one Puddle linked is cheaper.

Otherwise looks good.

^^ Good call on the 4850. I was trying to think of a comparable card to the GTS 250, but I got lazy, haha.

Just another of nvidia's re branded cards :p
You could also go a phenom x4, which could prove to be more future proof, and it will yield about the same performance around the board as the e8400. Both will overclock quite well, obviously the e8400 a bit better.

comes to about 30 over 900 but just rebate like one or two things to make it 900, the XFX card has a 25 rebate so tha will cover most of, then theres another 50 if you want to rebate them, you can always swap the cpu out for a e8400/ud3p combo.
