I am going to build a computer and came down to these parts, tell me what you think. I am going to be using it for just gaming, looking to build something I wont have to upgrade for awhile and that I can enjoy.

Thermaltake Armor Case
Asus A8n32-SLI Deluxe nForce4 chipset
Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego Soc 939
Geforce 7600GT 256MB PCI-X
Western Digital Caviar SE 320GB 7200 RPM SATA
Enermax or something good PSU
Thats what I got so far, any suggestions, comments. Thanks for helping out.
Mike

Oh yeah, RAM
It is a dual channel MB. How much is good? I want at least a GB. Should I go 2 512's. Or 1 GB. or if more than 1 GB, how?
This is my first build.
Thanks
Mike

Hey mike, ive been reading around and i found out that the intel conroe offers superious performance to AMD CPU's for a fraction of the price. So if possible i would get my hands on a conroe. That of corse would mean a diffrent motherboard and Ram. It would be a more pricey build.

But if you are going to stick with the amd cpu, i would go am2. Its where the future of amd is headed. The 939 chip is basically dead. After the conroe is released the prices should be cut a little over 100 bucks i think on the amd cpu's so kick it up to a 3800+ for the better cache.

as far as ram goes i would go with 2 GB. 2x 1GB sticks, dual channel. If this is too expensice and your just going to get a gig i would go with the dual channel 2x 512.

As for ram, get 2GB of some quality ram and go AM2 like massacreinfallx suggested if you are not going Conroe. If you decide on AM2 or Conroe, I suggest this DDR2 ram.

a conroe would only increase his payments......by about......$300 ish. horribly way to go with that

anywayz....yeah if ur not oging to be using sli, odnt waste your money on such an expensive board. just stick with an MSi k8n neo4-f, its about half, or less, than the price of the Asus, and is a REALLY good board, especially for overclocking, if u EVER plan on doing it. as for memory, get 2x1GB Value select ram of any of these brands: Crucial, corsiar, g.skill, ocz, patriot, mushkin.

for PSU, just get an Antec SmartPower, 450Watt. or is it 480? whichever.

Lol. "Superious." Yeah. I think I'll go Conroe if I can keep my budget under $2,000. I need to check up on RAM and motherboards.
