Hey, I have quite basic knowledge of computers but recently I have really wanted to change this and build my self a decent rig and move on from console to PC gaming. So what sort of things should I look into before I start buying parts for it - like what sort of specs should I be able to get for this money?

Thanks

i5 4460, H81, H97, or Z97 board (whichever fits in budget for ASRock, MSI, or Asus), 8GB of DDR3 1600 or 16GB (prioritize GPU over RAM), GTX 960 or 970, Seasonic M1211 520W or eVGA 600b (shoot for Seasonic first), case of your choice, at least a 120GB Samsung 850EVO, 250GB if budget permits, and a storage HDD.

Thankyou! Like I said I have a fairly basic knowledge about tech so I'm going to have to do quite a bit of research to make sense of that but anyway thanks a lot!
