Hows it going folks, just wanted to share my recent progress with my build. I had another thread I started a week or so ago about a budget conroe build I was planning, but plans fell apart as the necessary parts which I needed weren't priced in my previous budget range. Basically, I'm over my original $1000+ budget by about $200+ I'll figure it out once I set aside the time to check on the invoices, and other purchases made.

Stuff thats already arrived via UPS from newegg: PSU, HDD, optical drive, ram, hsf.
Mobo will arrive tommorow from ZZF...
GPU and Floppy drive will arrive either tommorow or Thursday from ewiz.

Yeah I know, why didn't I get a GPU like a x1900xt, 7900gtx, or 7950gx2... one because of money, two because I'm waiting for the DX10 cards to come out, anyway I don't do alot of gaming. Also as far as sound, I'll just use onboard audio for a while, until I find a deal on a card from a retailer around here.

For now I just have the PSU, optical drive, and HDD installed at the moment, originally I just wanted to install the PSU to make sure that the 20 pin power cable would reach the mobo. I think it will reach, and hopefully it does, but the answer will come tomorrow when the motherboard arrives via Fedex.

Another update, just minor this time.

The motherboard arrived about an half hour ago, so took a couple pics with the CPU since I keep forgetting. So far now, just waiting on the GPU and floppy drive to arrive, hopefully today or tommorow.

From Fry's in Atlanta, it was the last one they had in Silver, the Black ones were priced at $129.99, same thing for the Silver one they had on display, and luckily it wasn't a return item either. Got lucky from someone's mistake

the exact same model seasonic PSU went in my friends PC. Word of caution, use the screws provided as on the top left of the PSU there is very little clearance where the screw goes and if you use a standard length screw you'll fry the PSU.

Not had much luck with seasonic really, first one arrived faulty and the second one got blown up buy using too long a screw.

Thanks MrCoffee for the heads up, I'll stick with the screws that came with the seasonic so I don't fry it, also I hope the psu works flawlessly, God willing. Another reason I went ahead and got this psu was that its available locally, so if theres any problems with it, I could just return it instead of shipping it back to an etailer. Wish they had the M12 models available instead, but they won't be available in the states until Sept. 20th.
