Build for $700

Micro Center has great prices on Intel products.

Every cpu overclocks differently. Plus the other components you buy (mobo, memory and cooling) have a big effect on the overclockability of a cpu. Generally speaking you'll get better quality components going AMD with a budget of $700. I would move up to the i5 750 if I had $1000 and the i7 920 for $1500.

I guess, but what if I could make a i5 750 build thats cheaper than my 955 build.

and still use the same ram/psu/etc would be about 15$ cheaper and supposedly better preformance


why me!!!! i cant decide if i didnt live so close to a microcenter i would have went with the 955 or 965 build but since i have one down the street it opens up lots of options which i dont want =[.

If you live near microcenter, then it would better to go with intel build. I heard that i7 930 or i7 860 is sold for about $200 there. Correct me if I'm wrong
