Default Budget gaming rig

I have a budget gaming build I'm doing for a buddy and his budget is 800. He doesn't need a case or an OS. I was thinging any build under 1k still is best to go with AMD but am lost on what GPU to get. He also wants a SSD along with a larger storage hard drive. Any and all input is greatly appreciated

Edit: Editing ... budget $800, not $1000
it's tough to make a gaming computer for $800 with an ssd, sort of takes it out of the 'budget' category.

You actually have it, just switch to a AMD 960T and AM3/AM3+ motherboard and its within budget.
