Hey, well basically i built my computer at the start of the year and everythings gone good, but i slacked on keeping up with whats new and whats a good buy, so im not sure how to go about a new budget rig for my little brother.

We basically need everything within the tower, ONLY 1GB of a RAM which we'll purchase another 1GB of in january / febuary because we can't afford it at the moment.

The computer should be able to run new games well, COD4 and around that.

prefer intel / nvidia.

case i guess i can sort myself, any help would be appreciated.
and we don't need a Hard drive

i need:

- mobo
- gcard
- processor
- case
- psu
- ram (1gb, and plan on purchasing another GB later)

all within £400. we have everything else.

using british sites ;

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
Ebuyer - Cheap Computers, Laptops, Digital Cameras, TVs & more!

thanks in advance

Thanks,

Whys the RAM so cheap? I'm pretty sure i paid like 150ish for my 2GB :/

And i might buy a better processor than that rather than OC it...

other than that it all seems good,

what would you suggest if i just got 1GB of RAM instead of 2, and a better processor, might need to fit a case in, too.

any other suggestions anyone?

Ram is cheap because DDR2 prices are extremely low at the moment. It's very good ram.

Also I HIGHLY suggest overclocking as it's REALLY easy and will save you tons of money.

If you want a better processor then you'll have to spend more...and 1gb ram is pointless since 2gb kits are so cheap.

yeah DDR2 is pocket money, im still using DDR and it costs twice as much!
Looks like a good build for 400

Yeah thats an awesome build for the money. you could even get a P35-DS3L to save you a few quid (although I can't find it on eBuyer- try scan.co.uk or overclockers.co.uk to compare total prices), and that might allow you enough to get a case, at a slight stretch (but what is £20 anyway)

Thanks, can anybody tell me how this compares?

My brother, whom im building it for has found this prebuilt computer, i've always been against pre-built but this does seem rather good...
