Default Budget Build - Custom Desktop - Suggestions?

I'm trying not to spend over $300, especially since I need a monitor too. I'm leaving the video card out for now. Here' what I got so far, I've only looked at newegg.. suggestions are welcome.

LOGISYS Computer CS305BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Enhanced SOHO Computer Case 480W Power Supply

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811148046

$29.99

Sony Optiarc Black 24X SATA CD/DVD Burner LightScribe Support - OEM

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827118040

$18.99

Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148395

$39.99

Crucial Ballistix 2GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820148305

$29.99

AMD Athlon II X3 435 Rana 2.9GHz 3 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103920

$71.99

ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AM3 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131402

$88.99 w/ $15.00 mail in rebate

TOTAL = $279.94 w/ $15 mail in rebate

I think it's pretty decent, 2GB should be fine for now, especially with room to upgrade, and I should be good with 2.9 ghz triple core..

what do you think?

Even with a Budget build in your price it scares me to see a Case / Psu combo for $29.99.

I thought the same thing, but I checked it out, the only thing I'm really worried about is the Psu taking a dump in a week lol.

My cousin just had me replace his desktop because his psu went out and took what it could with it. Fried the Cpu / Mobo

Other than the psu, everything looks like it would run great for the price.

I'm just going to get a nice rosewill psu and put that in before I power it up.

Any thoughts on 2GB with 2.9ghz triple core w/o video card? Performance wise?

Make sure whatever replacement psu you put in there is 500W at least if you intend to add a video card later. And yeah, my friend's psu took on a dump on him, and it took out his HDD and one of his sticks of ram.

Your cpu should be fine for what you can do atm, but don't expect to be playing any games without a video card. I would recommend 4GB of ram, but if you aren't doing anything intensive, 2 will perform as needed.

just as a note of caution, rosewill and nice don't go together so i'd look into a better psu.

also that board doesn't have onboard video so you won't see much performance out of it

Newegg.com - BIOSTAR TA890GXB HD AM3 AMD 890GX HDMI SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
board has onboard GPU which is actually semi fast in comparison to other onboard chipsets, no rebate though.

this case is $55 putting your budget over a little bit, but the psu while certainly not anything I would make a permanent part of hardware in your build, will suffice for a while, and depending on what card you're going to put in will work (28 amps over the 2 12v rails for those who want to know). If you like the color of the case and all as well.
