You would have to use every Windows service in order to use the 800MB.

If you have 1GB of memory, a Page file of any size up to 3GB can be created.

A 32 bit OS can only address 4GB (page file and memory combined) So no, you can not use 8GB.

Windows 32bit only recognizes about 3gigs. If you put 4gigs in it, it says it only has 3 and only uses 3. Anymore than 2gigs is just a waste of time, effort, and money at this time. Even the biggest applications most people use rarely use more than 500mb, sometimes 700mb. 1gig should help alot of people, but if you like your games running on maxxed out at a great speed all day... you should get 2gigs.. not 4

2gig sticks are very expensive... dual 1gig sticks are the way to go (usually)

You can allocate it but you can't address it to a program.

Lets see those 5GB in action.

I would just like to say that I admire the calmness of Turtile when he is being bombarded with ignorance. Even if King X13 is right, (which I doubt, I’m about to do some research myself after this post.) then he’s still acting like an @$$. Way to keep it calm and collected Turtile.
