Default Bottleneck issues

I have:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (stock)
1 GB Dual Channel OCZ Gold PC 3200 ram (stock)
Asus A8N-E PCI-e motherboard
Thermaltake TR2 420 Watts Power Supply

do you think an eVGA 7800GT CO (470, 1100) will be too good for this system?

No. It'll run strong. I'd love to have a 7800 with mine...

Dunno bout the Power Supply, but if the card works, then there shouldn't be any problem.
