better 939 cpu

Looking for a little more horsepower for running photoshop cs3 with lightroom 2.1. I have a single core 4000+ (939 socket) and these two programs are eating it up. Would the AMD Opteron X2 180 2.40GHZ help out or would i be wasting $200 (ie save for a new mb, cpu and ram)? Is there a better option? Computer specs are in my sig and at present I am not OCing but would consider it.

those arent oem cpu's they are retails. it should come with a heatsink and fan

Well I don't recommend using stock coolers..

A Rosewill RCX-Z940 at least

generally the stock coolers will keep the proc from going above 60c (depending on cpu) . but for me that's too hot. the first thing i did with my stock cooler that came with my pentium d was throw it out the window. i should have done the same with the cpu
