Default Which is better?

I am having a really hard time determining whether the fx-57 is worth the $800+. So my question is which of these is better for gaming: a athlon 64 4000+ which is half the price of the fx-57 and allows me to spend the money saved on a 2nd 7800gtx and run them in sli or an fx-57 with a single 7800 gtx? i am not sure if the 4000+ will support 2 7800 gtx's

WTH! what kind of gaming are you doing boy?!!? why shoot for two GTX's when NO game today can even overload ONE of them!?! dont get the fx-57.. you can get the 4400+ and then get watercooling and overclock the **** out of it

If by overload, you mean drop to a framerate below that of the minimum FPS that the human eye can see, then that is a flase statement. The human eye can see 72 FPS, and there are several games I can name off the back of my head that would drop to a framerate below 72 on a 7800GTX. Doom 3, Half Life 2, and F.E.A.R. are all games that would drop below 72fps if cranked up all the way at 1600x1200 with 4xAA and 8xAF.

72? I'm skeptical. I cannot notice a difference when I view 40 fps and 80. They look the same to me. period.

60 and above look the same to me, depending on the AA and AF settings
