Default The BEST way the change a motherboard?

hello,
I am trying to figure out the best way to change a mobo, cpu, and ram but I don't know which one to pick out of these 2.
http://www.theeldergeek.com/replace_motherboard.htm

and

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824125

they both have different steps and I really don't want to mess anything up.

thanks

Why don't you just do a fresh install,Trying to just repair it end's up with problem's 90% of the time when upgrading new hardware.

just replace your stuff and then boot from cd do a complete install of windows like you did when you first built the computer. that would be the best way to do it.

If you have the reinstallation CD, I'd reformat, but if you cannot back-up your stuff, then I'd go by Microsoft's page.
