Default Best Video Card for my Asus P5B Deluxe Motherboard?

So after much research, I have decided on purchasing a good Graphics Card to replace my 8800GTS for a performance increase/graphic increase.

What is best high end graphics card that I could see the biggest peformance/graphic increase with that is compatible with my P5B Deluxe mobo?

Thanks in advance...

-Joe

Any PCI-e Video Card? Your PSU is sufficient for most GPU's

Whats your budget? Then I can tell you a budget

Up to $300. That would be cool if I get a really good card for sale under $300

Newegg.com - EVGA 896-P3-1255-AR GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

or

Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100270SR Radeon HD 4850 X2 2GB 512-bit (256-bit x 2) GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

The second one is probably a bit more powerful.

If you wanna spend closer to $200:

Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100259-1GL Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

All big improvements over an 8800GTS.

Default Re: Best Video Card for my Asus P5B Deluxe Motherboard?

I am thinking about purchasing the eVGA GTX 260. This is the first time I have upgraded my GPU. I am assuming I will see big gains in the Graphic Department, but how much of a FPS increase will I see. Will it be a dramatic increase?

Also, how does this card compare the GTX 280? Would it be worth the extra money for the 280?

Thanks!

1. HD4870 X2
2. GTX 280
3. HD4850X2
4. 9800GX2
5. HD4870 1GB / GTX 260 Core 216
6. HD4870 512MB
7. GTX 260

that's from our graphic card list. Really the 4870x2 is the best card out there but is out of your price range. the 4850x2 is your next best bet for 300 and under. The gtx280 can be found for a bit more depending on the brand and such, but can offer decent performance increases but with a 22" that probably isn't even putting out 1080p resolutions, any of the top 7 cards will be able to max out your games.

So if the 4850x2 and the GTX 280 are relatively the same price - which one would you pick for max. performance?

Thanks
