Default Best PCIE x16 video card for price?

I'm looking into what the best PCI Express x16 video card is for the price.
Right now I have a Diamond X1650 Pro 512mb which is awesome for games like HL2 and Gmod. I got the card for $95 w/ a mail-in rebate. Is that a good price?
If not, what is a card that gets great performance for its price and still runs games great?

x1950xt for 160 after rebate, around 250 you can get the 2nd best card, the 8800gts, and the best card, is around 500, the 8800gtx, it can max out anything at any res.

if you would dish out 830 bucks, you could get a free 680i mobo with a 8800ultra :P

just stick with a gtx, if you only have a 17:/19" monitor, get a gts, preferably a 320, with the smal res, and crank up the AA

In regards to the original question. The X1950XT 256 is the best for around 180 bucks. The 8800GTS is then the next bang for your buck.
