Best Overclocking Quad below 300?

eh, not for people who need that stuff, but I've got everything else for a PC

anyways, does a good mobo really make a big difference when overclocking?

Very much so. The abit 650i that i bought to hold me over while i was rma'ing my 680i wouldnt overclock for crap.

do you guys foresee any significant price drops for the q6600? I think I might be able to scrounge enough for a decent mobo and the processor sometime this or next month

You can pick up the q6600 for 219 from microcenter right now. i dont see it getting any cheaper.
