On a price/performance stand point the 2900 is in fact crap compared to the GT I eagerly await the new cards to see if ATI can pick themself up and get back in the game.

good choices... but you've assumed that he has an Intel Board... theres the possibility he wants AMD or he's a fanboy..

except made before the 680i (hence why it's the 500 series, instead of the 600 series)
