i love my acer 20" monitor, runs at 1680x1050 and looks very good. i think it looks better than my dads saumsung syncmaster 19"

Monitors are much like speakers and sound cards. Everyone has their favorite and believes it to be the best. What you really need to do it go into a shop and see which one looks best to you. For me it was Samsung, but that is a personal preference. There are many excellent monitors out there. Find one you like and do not look back.

Reason I got my Acer 22" 1080p is because my friend got the same monitor, and I loved how it looked. I got it cheaper though .
