Default Best Headset

Basically im looking for the best gaming headset out there with a microphone.
I have found a few different ones which are:

Sennheiser PC160/155 Gaming Headset

Fatal1ty Pro Gaming Headset (but cant find anywhere! if someone has seen this on a UK website please post link)

Plantronics GameCom Pro 1 PC Gaming Headset

Any info or user feedback of these would be appreciated. Or any other suggestions welcome.

Thanks

I found the Plantronics GameCom Pro 1 PC Gaming Headset at ebay for £25+ cheaper than everywhere else and they do look really good. Just some user feedback would be good from here.

Sennheiser are good. Don't go for a USB one though - only thing I can say really. Also 5.1 headsets are not good either.

Why not USB and why not 5.1 sound?

The Plantronics aren't 5.1, and are a good price. Would they be the best for me?

You will get better sound from a 3.5mm jack from your sound card, but I was looking at the Sennheiser's and they have 3.5mm's as well.

5.1 give poor sound quality (due to having multiple little speakers.) Medusa 5.1's get interference due to having a built in amp.

So say i had an X-Fi Xtreme sound card and had the plantronics in a usb port would it not use the sound card as well as it should or what?
The Sennheiser 165's are USB and are extrememly expensive, usb cant be that bad.

Expensive does not equal good.

Look at Apple . Ok, joking. No need to start a flame war.

Look at Windows XP. Also joking. Maybe.

Look at Bose QuietComfort 3's. No joke. I'm satisfied with my $40 Sennheiser e150's.

Beware of expensive things designed to lure people in. If something's good, it can be expensive, but the converse of this is not true.

It will not use the sound card (or so I have been told) if it is USB. The Sennheiser's USB is an attatchment onto the 2 3.5mm jacks. I quite like these:http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...aSP_2d014_2dSN
