What is generally the best hard drive brand?

Seagate are my favourite. if not Seagate, then WD. but stay away from Maxtor.

Seagate have a 5 year warranty on all its drives.

my rule is anything but white label. you'll learn the hard way.
Dell Precision 670 (3.4GHz DP Xeon, 4GB DDR2, XPSP3)

maxtors have a tendancy to die pretty early... not all do, but i have heard alot more bad stories about maxtor than any other brand.

I agree.. I'm a WD, then Seagate although like someone said above Seagate has a nice warranty on their drives.
