Default Battle of The CPU's (Opteron 170 Vs. X2 4400+)

As we know, both CPU's are at a very good deal at the moment. Right in the middle but far better then worse in regaurds to proformance.

Vote and give your comments on which you think is a better CPU, consider speed, OC, Temp, overall proformance..etc

Only One Can Take The Crown
which one will it be.

the opteron would overclock better but it is 200mhz lower clocked than the athlon. at stock speeds the 4400+ will outperform it. kingpin you don't need to make this many threads. isnt this your third cpu thread?

how much do you think the 170 can be overclocked on air.

if your worried about the threads i'll delete them if you dont like looking at them, just trying to bring some life to the forums.

its ok about the threads its just people dont like the forums being cluttered with stuff that could have been done in one thread. i have no idea how far the opteron could overclock on air but i would say 2.8ish because its hard to get past there on air

thanx nite, hey do you think you can recommend a nice Video Card. Im not looking for anything to extreme like the 7900gtx, maybe the GT, but im not a hardcore gamer, just a few games here and there, mostly i guess to watch videos and more like multimedia then gaming but still wouldnt hurt if i wanted to play a game, knowing I have the option.

well if you can afford the 7900gt then go for it. if not probably the next best in value and performance would be the 7600gt.

Considering theres 24 pipelines vs 12 pipelines, 128 bit memory interface, 256 bit memory interface. and probably different number of vertex shaders Yes lol

I voted Opteron 170 for the overclockability. I would get the 165 though, personally.
