Default Bad L2 Cache Just Slow or Disabling?

At a MARS group I use Smith Micro's Checkit to test components in donated PCs. Two recently tested PCs showed good CPUs but bad cache memory on mobo. Does this mean the PC will just be slow or does this bad Level 2 cache disable the PC? Slow is OK as we just donate them to non-profits.
