*Back from the dead* hmammens new build, where yall at?

Hey TF, it has been too long since ive been an active member here. This is due to many reasons, school, work, full time girlfriend pleaser? gah.... But im back and building a new rig to be ready by the end of summer....got some interesting games coming out and my s939 rig just wont keep up anymore. Im kinda on a budget of between 500-600$ but i think i cooked up the perfect solution. Ive been out of the mainstream loop of hardware for a minute but i think i chose wisely. Any questions, comments, feedback is greatly appreciated. You will see this by the end of july i hope. Oh, and dont tell me to go with intel, ive always been AMD all the way. Thanks.

(will this be enough power for everything?? including the dedicated physx card?)

will also be picking up a 64gb solid state drive to run my OS paired with a 500gb sata 3gbs

will also be adding my old evga9800gtx+ to the 460 for dedicated physX card.

will most likely add 4 more gigs of ram later on.

and possibly adding this for my birthday in august- EK all the way!

Youre on a budget eh?

AMD has seriously lost the current fight. The 2600k beat 980x's and every amd cpus. Its a real thing to think about.

But, you may want to go for a 870 chipset, like this: Newegg.com - MSI 870S-G54 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard As it'll have the best chance of being futured for Bulldozer. But mainly as theyre the sata 3 6Gb/s connectors.

Rest aint bad.

You could go with a less expensive card and grab a Phenom II x4. Something like this (the 6850 actually performs a little better than the 460):

also...the last time i ran sli was two 8800gts and i used a 550 watt antec....would the 600watt ocz be adequate enough for what im looking to do....or should i get more power.

The 6850 requires a 500W PSU, the 460 requires a 450W. A 600W OCZ should handle it fine as long as it has good 12V rails.

I say lucky 980x owner.... Causee I still can't afford even a used one.... But your right, especially once all 6 cores fire up.
