How "good" of a computer does your friend want? I only ask because for that same price you can pick up a good i5 or even an i7 build. Also, that GTS 250 isn't "bad" however if you are looking for "good" you can get better. I have all these words in quotes since their meaning varies by person.

anyone else agree spending $176 on a keyboard is crazy?

wait, i want to play building game too

SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA DVD Burner
dvd burner is very mature at this point, I just picked out cheapest sata burner

NZXT LEXA S LEXS - 001BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
same case you picked

Western Digital Caviar Blue WD3200AAKS 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
single platter, 16MB cache, same capacity as the one you chose

SAPPHIRE 100283-2L Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
DX11 ready, comes with free 4GB usb drive

OCZ Fatal1ty OCZ550FTY 550W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Active PFC Power Supply
550W is plenty for this build

Logitech 920-000914 Black 106 Normal Keys Wired Ultra-thin Illuminated Keyboard
the keyboard your friend picked out is crazily expensive

RAZER Lachesis Phantom White 9 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Laser 4000 dpi Gaming Mouse
this mouse seems to get good reviews

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
4GB, fast ram @ 1600 plenty for a gaming system

Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor

ASUS P7P55D EVO LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

i5 offers good cost/performance ratio, gaming system don't need SMT
board offers 2 PCI-E 16X slots in case your friend ever wants to get another video card
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders
7 for DX11

total: $1085.39
+2 monitors you picked out @$200 each = $1485.39?

something different here too.

total $1262 + shipping (w/ possible $70 back in rebates)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.296065
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.314531
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.314719
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136319
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119137
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827151197

this would include 1 single faster gfx card (hd 5850) instead of getting 2 mid end cards to being with. but even if your friend should want to run dual 5850's, this setup would be ready for that too.

still includes i7 920, same ram and mobo (referring to Trotter's combo here).

only thing is that the hdd i included is smaller (640gb). but for a bit more, you could get a 1tb
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-102-_-Product

or if you want a 1.5tb
