I was under the assumption that using nail polish remover was bad because it leaves a residue behind. Use some alcohol wipes ore 90% isopropyl alcohol and coffee filters. The proper way to apply TIM on a quad is a line going across the cores. Look it up though because i dont remember which direction the cores run.

your assumption would be correct. high spirits alcohol is much better than fingernail polish.

MEh, my q6600 is currently running at 52 51 49 47 *C. core #1234 repectfully. My zalman flower is on there lose cos i can move it but bollucks to it, unless it powers off to overheating what do i care, REALLY. Oh noes my poor liwwel pwocessor is gonna get toasty.

If you do that you'll wreck a board if it slips

The Tuniq tower screws can't be screwed on THAT tight that pliers will have problems unscrewing them and might slip. Only fingers have problems unscrewing them, which is why I found it much easy to use pliers to carefully help unscrew the TT screws.
