Should I turn my computer off and let the thermalpaste dry up a bit?

I thought the idea on applying thermalpaste is....

LESS IS MORE

I dont quite get it though, what if it was too little that it wont even come in contact with the cpu and the heatsink?

Here's the right way, for most cases:

Put a dot in the middle, the size of a grain of rice. Then you seat the heatsink, with it's weight spreading the thermal paste. Twist the heatsink back and forth, to squeeze out any air pockets. And that's it.

Ahh ok. Ima turn my pc off and see if i get any results.

k pinoy stop panicking, by the sounds of it your on the way of kiling your rig, and yes u should take the cpu out to clean it.

Hey man, FYI about your sig.

When you're running a RAID0, you don't add up both hard drives speed.

Two 10k rpm hard dirves in a RAID0 does NOT mean its running at 20,000rpm's.

A RAID0 does not effect how fast the hard drives spin at.

I was under the assumption that using nail polish remover was bad because it leaves a residue behind. Use some alcohol wipes ore 90% isopropyl alcohol and coffee filters. The proper way to apply TIM on a quad is a line going across the cores. Look it up though because i dont remember which direction the cores run.
