will the hd3870 x2 be part of the spider platform (like using 4 in a 790fx board?)

I swear im gonna be so ****ed if the B3 stepping processors, n FXs, dont do well. I want AMD to kick butt this year.

i guess so. To me, spider platform is just a name, nothing else. But a cool name ^_^.

i think the 3870x2 only had 1 crossfire bridge connector

All I want to do is crossfire two of these cards so long as they are better then direct competitor.........

ya.. never said it wasnt okay.. don't see why you'd need octa gpu's.... unless you really feel like manhandling 2560x1600

8 cpu cores is just too much :/

im gonna stick with 2 seperate 3870's, its gonna perform exacly the same if not better, all tho the 7950gw2 was nvidia two 7900gtx outperformed it. and the 7950gw2 was two 7900gtx slaped together

the 7950gx2 was actually made of 2 7950GTX mobile (for lappies) cards slapped together

In the case of the 3870x2, having both GPUs on a single PCB should help performance theoretically, we shall see.

I think the experience that Sapphire got from making the 1950PRO Dual could really help ATi with this card.
