ATI graphics to support DisplayPort 1.1 in early 2008 - Engadget

ok now i like the idea of having higher resolution, but i dont see myself supporting this AS MUCH because i dont need extremely high resolution for me to enjoy my fun, especially in games.

im not saying its a bad idea to go to Display Port 1.1, i think its cool especially with a clip on it . If the R700 graphics cards support this, then i wont be terrified or anything, i just need monitors to support it now.

what do u guys think of this? what is going through ur minds right now about it?

I already have a 3007WFP running 2560x1600, but since Samsung is releasing a TV with that resolution if 1600P, it could be a good idea but i dont thin that this wil catch on as hdmi aready has a huge install base and the cables for this port only transmit video, but i do like this over dual-link dvi
