Default ATHLON 64 x2 vs. intel Pentium D 830

Hi

I see AMD Athlon 62 X2 Dual core for 341 USD
And
Intel Pentium D 830 for 340 USD

Can I please have a benchmark review or more importantly your personal opinion if you were to choose between these two systems.

Which one is better, faster
I am looking to have a fast overall system , not specific for gaming,
just kick-*** web surfing and etc...

Thank you
Ralph

Intel should be embarrassed with its showing in round 2. At every turn, AMD beat it to the punch. Even the Athlon 64 X2 3800+, the lowest end of AMD's dual-core CPUs, is better suited to 3D gaming than Intel's highest-end Extreme Edition 840 CPU, which lost by a full 10 percent.

LOL

WOW, I know AMD were better in gaming but I really didn't think they would beat intel buy such a big margin on the video editting and things

yeah. i WAS an intel guy. i had a 2.8 p4 northwood which was nice but i decided it was time to upgrade and after researching decided to go with AMD this time. i couldn't be happier. It also helps that i went with a dual core so it's an unfair comparison but AMD dual cores are better than Intel's.
