Receipts are our friends. What about an AM2? Better upgrade path there. Otherwise, I reccomend the X2 as well.

now the 3800+ only has a 512kb l2 cache vs the athlon 3700 witha 1MB l2cache. is that much of a deal and should i worry about it?

don't worry about the cache unless you know more . the x2 3800+ is more powerful overall (although generally not in singlethreaded applications)

edit: lol, i am ashamed of myself. i actually spelled "know" as "no"

ok wlel i ordered the 3800+ and i returned the 3700....waiting for the 3800 to get here and ill be puttin my comp together
