Default Asus vs Nvidia Mobo..

EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

Newegg.com - EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

[and]

ASUS Maximus Formula Intel X38 Core 2 Quad Socket 775 1600MHz PC2-9280 (DDR2-1160) ATX Motherboard Retail

ASUS Maximus Formula Intel X38 Core 2 Quad Socket 775 1600MHz PC2-9280 (DDR2-1160) ATX Motherboard R at ZipZoomfly

After talking with the guys at SLIZone.com I am thinking about getting an NVIDIA motherboard that allows for 2x 8800 GTS GPU's.

Can anyone tell me about the NVIDIA motherboard above and how it compares in overclockability to the ASUS Maximus? and how it compares in general?

Is it true the NVIDIA Motherboard above can hold 3 GPU's? in SLI?

Thanks for the feedback...

Why don't you get a P35 to save money?

And why do you want SLI? High resolutions? Benchmark scores?

A p35? And a SLIZone.com moderator showed me 3DMark06 scores and Crysis benchmarks with and without SLI.. It seems like 2 cheap 8800 GTS GPU's will work very well and give more output for the money vs buying a GTX or Ultra. I originally chose the ASUS motherboard because of it's awesomeness... and overclockability.

I would like to post what he posted for me but their forums are down now (-.-)

I've had a 680i and i liked it. I'm now using a Maximus Formula because I have 1 GPU.

If you want to SLI 780/790i is the way to go. If you want to crossfire Maximus Formula is the way to go.

Isn't that the 2,000$ graphics card with 2 graphics cards in 1 or something? It sounds expensive compared to 2 8800GTS

you're thinking of 9800gtx, and 3 9800gtx's cost $2000, plus Microcenter sells the 9800gx2 for $350

also I think a 9800gx2 performs like 2 8800gts g92
