Default ASUS v DFI

These are the 2 mobos that i am deciding between for my next system.

and this is the memory

I know that DFI's have been known for exceptional overclocking...but they are very finicky w/ ram. I have also heard great things about this particular ASUS's oc'ing abilites but ASUS is the brand that isn't so picky about ram.

Can anyone give me a reccomendation to which mobo i should choose and whether this specific ram would work w/ this DFI...if it does work w/ the DFI i will almost certainly be getting that one for pure oc'ing abilites

I would go for the ASUS but a lot of the people on this forum prefer the DFI for different reasons. I have always liked ASUS and wouldnt turn to anyone else.

The only RAM that the DFIs have ever shown a problem with are the Corsair series, ValueSelect to be exact.

Err..i use corsair value select in my DFI ultra-D

So you might wanna know what your talking about.

EDIT: That Gskill will work very well on DFI's. I dont know why you want the SLI-Expert.
I would recommend to you Get the Ultra-D and that Gskill and get a very good single solution card. SLI is not great value.

Heh, telling me to know what I'm talking about, thats rich. I know more about what I'm talking about than you do buddy since you obviosly don't know about the many many problems that DFI has had with ValueSelect. I know that it doesn't happen very often, infact, I'm one to say that the problem is negligible because it doesn't always occur, as in your case. But don't take my word for it, head over to DFI street and see all the ValueSelect problems.

DFI is the best overclocking board you can get, I'd say. The only thing about DFI, tho, is that you have to love tweaking your settings and getting everything set "just so" to get optimal performance with all of your stuff. If you're like me and you just want to install your hardware and have it all work right away and not care about tweaking everything then get the ASUS.

In my opinion, ASUS is one of the worst manufactures of motherboards. I also think DFI is one of the best. So it goes without saying... DFI

*WARNING THIS IS MY OPINION* Asus sucks bawls!!! *WARNING*

Yea, the only DFI that has ram issues like that is the SLI-Expert. The rest are fine. DFI is he best for AMD mobos ATM.
