Default ASUS P5N-E SLI help

so a friend of mine is having trouble with his build whenever he cuts it on it gets this
llllllllloooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg
beep

what could be causing this?

Could it possibly be bad memory? Whenever I think of beeps, the usual that comes to mind, is memory. So try one memory stick, at a time, to see if they're the problem.

I have that motherboard too. What ram color slots, does he have it in? Yellow or black? It should be in the black slots, as I heard the yellows, are pretty buggy.

so it was still giving me the one long beep, aand then i unplugged the cpu fan and it posted, so i put it back on and it gave me the beep again, took it off and got the beep again.
i cant for the life of me figure out whats wrong with this thing
