Default ASUS HD3850 X3 Revealed

VR-Zone Source
Tech-Connect Magazine Source

Bring on the X4 already. Voodoo5 6000 needs competition...

When two GPUs on one card becomes plain then you know it's time to step up and that's what Asus was probably thinking when it decided to make the Trinity. This cool name that never gets old is of one graphics card with three GPUs working in a compact CrossFireX setup.

Taking up two slots, the EAH3850 Trinity has three mobile RV670 chips and is cooled by a combination of aluminum heatsinks, copper heatpipes and an enclosed water cooling system. The three 55nm GPUs all have their dedicated memory and make use of a 256-bit memory interface. Featuring one 6-pin power connector for extra wattage, the Trinity also has four DVI connectors. The card's clocks and actual availability haven't been decided yet.

itl probably just be on par maybe and looks liek 4 tiems the ammount of trouble, and you wont be able to have two of those in one system either.

That would be retarded...

If it doesn't blow the 3870x2 away by a certain amount then ATI will scrap the project probably because this looks like an expensive card.

This looks oh so pointless...

but I wonder if 6x GPU Crossfire would be possible.. looking at the pics, doesn't seem like it'll happen though
