Default Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe - lost USB ports in BIOS update...

Hi - I am hoping for some help with my Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, which I just updated to Bios version 1016. I did the update to try to get SLI working with two 6800 Ultra cards (different manufacturers.) I updated my Nvidia drivers, the Chipset drivers, and finally flashed the Bios. Still no luck with the SLI.

I am pretty much ready to give up on the SLI - I wanted the second card to drive a 3rd monitor (in 2d) anyway. However, when I did the Bios update, two of the 4 USB ports on the back of my machine stopped working. I have gone into the setup, but can't see anything that is obviously off.

Anyone have any ideas why those ports died, and how I can bring them back?

I would also appreciate any advice on the SLI, but I had a dialouge going on the Nvidia forums with someone who I think works there. After trying all these things the final message was more or less that it just wasn't going to work. (They did suggest flashing the Bios on the cards to the same version, but I have no clue how to do that.)

Thanks for any advice.
