Default Architecture Bonus?

I have the Intel 945 board and I'm planning on tossing a pentium D 820 in there. Now that CPU has an FSB of 800 and the board takes DDR2 Ram. I was planing on using DDR2 670 but I was told that it would void the architecture bonus I may get from the ram. Do I have to use DDR2 400 to get that or can I use a higher-end ram.

Default

higher clocked ram should downclock just fine as long as they're both DDR2
