Default Apple lcd monitors

i was checking out the apple monitors the other day on their site, and i still just don't understand why they are sooooo expensive!!

they look nice and all but it just seems like a lot of money for a monitor. Is this a rip off or is it a good price for such a large lcd?

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...=AppleDisplays

Thanks

You are paying for the resolution (and the looks.)

If you can afford dual 7900GTX's or whatever is needed for 2560 X 1600, then you would have enough for that.

They will be brought by big graphics companies who need high resolutions for their work.

but the name "cinimatic displays" almost makes it seem as though this would be for a computer type media center

If you compare those to other monitor ( of reputable name ) of that resolution and size... they are pretty normally priced.

Yea, it's because the typical PC monitor is usually of the same screen size but about half the resolution lol. I wish Apple would of gotten the response time down to 12ms and released a 17" LCD that's more affordable though.
