Default Anyone using solid state drives yet?

If so, how's the performance?

I've seen the benchmarks, I want some real world experience feedback.

i have no idea how they even work, and what they are used for they are so small and expensive... what exactly do you keep on a SSD and i would assume u have another regular hard drive?

From what i heard on cNet TV they are expensive for their size, seek times are comparatively higher and storage size needs to catch up.

i work with some one that has a few SSD's in his pc (2 in raid-0) and basicly what he has been telling me is that in gaming there is a noticeably differance in load times

specially with mmo games

he was telling me load times in everything else is quicker but i dont know by how much

^ basicly second hand info i havent had a ssd yet so i can not tell you first hand but like every one else will tell you the price is a bit wow for the moment, wait a bit till they come down unless you really one one now that is

they are way to expensive for me atm but when they start to come down (or i can afford the biggest one) id use it for my OS and maybe a game or 2 to run really fast

Newegg.com - OCZ Solid Series OCZSSD2-1SLD30G 2.5" 30GB SATA II Solid State Disk (SSD) - Solid State Disks

i thought about getting this one. its cheap. if it sucks, no big deal. the crappy thing is that the 3.5" bay adapter is like 20 bucks lol.
